Lambing time

We have 9 ewes bagging up so far, a range of ages from experienced to first timers, with two more that might just be behind a little. I don't think the Tunis caught. They've been looking mighty uncomfortable lately - You can see Smoothie and Little Horn in the pics, and they are both very very wide. I'm amazed those little pencil legs hold them up, really.

The first lamb was born to White Cap, a little red and white appaloosa marked boy. Harvey throws red and white with most of my ewes, with the exception of Tosha, who must be pure black - she only ever throws black offspring. Not sure what Blaze, her daughter, or the other black and white ewe will throw, I'm hoping black and whites.

Of course the dogs were patrolling outside the ewe pen, Brick was beside himself wanting to inspect the lamb.
