While waiting on cardboard hand offs from friends to make the regulation size earthdog tunnels, I made a tube of wire to eventually wrap in plastic to practice Oliver with.
Well, what I had forgotten, is that for Brick, already pushing the envelope on size with great gusto, the extra space of the diagonal in a 9" x 9" square tunnel is considerable (12 3/4"). He doesn't have that advantage in the tube, which is 9" in diameter, any which way you look at it. He aparently doesn't care, and he's so well trained and so trusting of me that he's willing to cram himself in the tube. So here is is, in a 9" diamter tube, 4 ft long. I think he'll find the cardboard square tunnel much....easier. He moves pretty quickly in the tube, which just reinforces that a properly made dog can do a lot of things with ease. He does bear a remarkable resemblance to those capsules that you put your money in at the bank drive through teller...
He will go through it even with it covered with a tarp just as willingly, just doesn't make for as good a picture, and he was quite willing to wait when asked so I could take pictures.
Whiskey is slightly smaller than him, and makes it though the tube as well, although she needs mroe encouragement in the form of hotdog.
