Yes, that is a stuffed animal cow in there as the surrogate mom with the chicks. Means they have something to snuggle with besides each other, and to hide under. Seems like Pocket Chicken as well as a little blue silkie are co-nesting and have gone broody. Pow figured this out when he went into the coop to check on everyone, stuck his nose in the crate, and got chased out by a frantic little blue puff ball. She went right back to the nest, and PC was rolling eggs under herself. I carefully pulled any Jersey eggs out from under them that I could see, and replaced them with silkie eggs. Silkies are harder to hatch in the incubator, so I'd rather be in charge of hatching Jerseys and have the girls in charge of hatching Silkies.
