Ha! Caught in the Act!

The goats neglected to take the very large bovine with them on their exploit, which was their undoing. I guess they figured that he was only good for muscle and that they could bloody well get over the fence themselves.

They didn't figure on him ratting them out. Again. He's not stupid.

I was over at Kathy's, having taken the sheep flock over with 7yr old Vicky and the herding team of Brick and Kestrel. I start hearing Albert over at my house, yelling at the top of his lungs - and not the "I'm hungry" or "I'm bored" or even the "Why can't I work?" bellows. This was his "Hey, something is very wrong!" bellow. I wrapped up things and drove back over to the house, to find Albert in the middle of the pen he shares with the goatboys, with only one goatboy out of 4 in with him, mooing with great gusto and very alert. Hiero, of course, is too stupid to get into trouble, and isn't invited by his brother to go make trouble.

I come around the house to find Push, Pull and Nash out back, out of the pen, eating brush, after having smashed the fence down by the water trough and jumped over it. Brick and Kestrel were quite happy to stuff the goats back in the proper place, and I fixed the fence. Albert got a lot of praise, and like last time, got a alfalfa cube for being a good boy - staying in the fence himself, and alerting me to the problem.
