The chickens, especially the Jersey Giants, seem to be excellent mousers. I've been trapping mice in the house, and wanted to make sure that the roosters would atleast think about doing their job if they saw a mouse or snake, so I threw one out in the back yard. Jersey girl ran it down, killed it very efficiently, and swallowed it whole. Even the silkie roos will attempt to run it down, although they don't have the speed that the Jerseys do, or the drive.
So no wonder the mice are in the house - because outside the house is hazardous, all these attack chickens running around!
