I've been doing recalls with the pups for the last week or two. They come to "pup pup pup" just like any other litter (seems to be nearly universal first recall command for breeders). Slowly changing it to "puppies, come". What is great, is that we are doing recalls off of a food/dog distraction - I'll put Whiskey in the xpen, let them nurse till they are nearly done, then call them off to food. And it works well. This should enforce leave what you are doing even if it has value and come.
Taking them outside now, and will fence off the deck today hopefully. Feed and do repeated 10 ft recalls in the grass as tall as they are. Really good pups and really really funny to see them bounding through the grass. They are having a good time and right now are a good blend of happy to follow humans and happy to go investigate on their own. The two tri's still tend to buddy up, but every one else is fine to wander off by themselves. They are getting to see 1-3 strangers a day now - yay for clients!
